The St Patrick Visitor Centre this Christmas is launching a new initiative with Social Services to support vulnerable local families who are struggling at this time of the year in the Downpatrick area.
Working in the Spirit of Saint Patrick’ and raising money for those most in need has long been a theme for the Friends of the Saint Patrick Centre organization in America and Canada. Now we want to share the same idea at home to help those who find themselves in need by creating a "Giving Tree" in the Centre.
The Christmas Giving Tree will hold the Christmas wishes of local children and works by choosing a child to support from the tree and purchasing one extra gift this year to help ease the pressure for some local families.
The Spirit of Saint Patrick Giving Tree will be available from Wednesday 25th November until Thursday 17th December. Call into the Centre and collect details or contact us on 02844 619000/ email@example.com. There will also be a collection of non perishable food items and a cash donation box at the Centre. Any assistance you can give at this time of the year will make a huge difference to local families and would be greatly appreciated.
There are still places available for the FREE W5 Halloween themed 'Talking Goul-arbage' show at the Centre, Downpatrick today (Wed 28 Oct). Bring your little monster along with a used disposable battery at either 1.30pm or 3.30pm.Read more
