Food Drive in Milwaukee
IN THE SPIRIT OF SAINT PATRICK Saint Patrick's Day Food Drive The Friends of St Patrick-Milwaukee Chapter, in partnership with Hunger Task Force and in cooperation with the Shamrock Club, is spearheading an effort to collect food donations at the upcoming Shamrock Club Parade, March 13th, 12 Noon, and The Bluemound Businessman's Parade, March 13th, 3:00 PM. We will put the call out to have parade-goers to bring non-perishable food items to the parade for donations. Volunteers will walk the parade route with grocery carts collecting the donated food items. The mission of the Hunger Task Force states every person has the right to adequate food obtained with dignity. They prevent hunger and malnutrition by providing food in need today and promoting social polices to achieve food security tomorrow. The Friends of St. Patrick believes the parade and the food collection will support this mission and provide a postitive image for the Saint Patrick Day Celebration while bringing the spirit of Saint Patrick's message of peace and reconciliation to our community. The Friends are asking other Irish organizations for volunteers to help us in this worthwhile effort. Anyone interested in participating can call Tom Callen at 414-529-5509 or email tom.callen@callenconstruction.com

Visiting Toronto
Toronto, January 2010 hosted by Sharon DiCecco of HMWN Radio Maria. Sharon has been promoting the Friends doing invaluable work bringing together many people with an interest in our work in Canada. We started with a meeting with Father Nino Cavoto at Our lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and Mary Fay from the O'Connor Heritage House in Toronto. Here in Our Lady of Sorrows under a glorious tapestry dedicated to Saint Patrick.

Great Irish Golf Tournament Raises Funds
During our Milwaukee Friends Meeting at the Irish Fest Center Tim Campbell was delighted to be able to receive a check for $5,000 from another dear friend - Chuck Ward as a result of the Great Irish Open Golf Tournament which he ran in September. Here one of our Young Ambassadors, Jim McLaughlin talks about his experiences.
