Scoil Rince an Chroí

We are excited to present the third of our Irish dancing schools performing on the 17th March- Scoil Rince an Chroí:

Established in 2016 under the instruction of Bríd McKinney TCRG and Christopher Owens TCRG, Scoil Rince an Chroí is an Irish Dance school registered with An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha and is based in the heart of County Down. Since opening Scoil Rince an Chroí has gone from strength to strength. Classes are held across five locations weekly (Loughinisland, Ballyhornan, Saul, Carryduff and Ballynahinch) and a branch opened in Florida USA in the summer of 2018 under the instruction of co-teacher Bridget Madden TCRG. Classes range from beginner through to championship level and we are a market leader with our adult Irish Dance classes. These classes are held three times per week with dancers learning the art form of Irish Dance and opportunities given to compete locally and internationally.

2018 brought many great accolades for Scoil Rince an Chroí. Two of their dancers placed 3rd in the European Championships, at the Ulster Championships they secured two world qualifiers and the under 8 six hand placed 3rd, the adult ceili team competed at the Great British Championships and they witnessed progress in their dancers through their grades and into championship level.

“This year so far, we have set the bar high at competition level and enjoyed a successful All Ireland championships a highlight of which was our adult ceili team placing 2nd. “Since opening we have never lost sight of values such as team work, friendship and confidence building. This is represented in the name of our school “Rince an Chroí” which simply means “Dance from the Heart”. From small beginnings come great things and we are delighted with the success our dancers have accomplished to date.”

New dancers are always welcome to come along and foster their love for dance.
